GD reeds are made thinking of those clarinetists who seek a reed with a classic French cut. GDs are made with a thicker blank and a larger tube cane diameter than the standard French cut clarinet reeds. This wider material is normally used in the manufacturing of Alto saxophone reeds, therefore, GD reeds have a very deep sound. They are the first Gonzalez reeds with a filed cut. 
GDs have a longer scrape area and more material in the heel, thus, they are much more vibrant and lasting reeds.
